Wine Box Extraveganza...

A few weeks ago the Fiance's Dad was over at our place and noticed the 2 wine boxes I had and he mentioned that he had built a drawer/shelving system for his truck out of wine boxes. I told him how I was having a hard time getting them (many failed attempts before I got TWO) and he told me that the warehouse across the street from his factory manufactures boxes or distributes or something (I can't remember) wine and that he could get tons of boxes. Yahoo! I told him that I'd love to get a few for a bigger project and he said he'd grab some for me. I assumed he'd get me 3-4. Today he showed up with 14 and apologized that he could only fit 14 of them in his car. OH BOY.

I better get crackin' on something. Including my original 2 boxes...we have 16 wine boxes sitting in the foyer. OOPS. One of the boxes has a really cool bird stamped onto it. I'd like to get started painting a few but today is the Fiance's birthday (Happy Birthday Fiance!!!) and so it's his day to decide what we'll do. At the moment he's out having Father/Son birthday lunch...I declined attending so that I could bond with my boxes. Am also waiting for the vet's office to call with an update on Tal. If that cat can't come home today, I'm going to have a very sad birthday boy on my hands.

Also below are pics of the red/yellow toile valance I got and the yellow moire fabric...and my J.Crew enamel bracelet bender and the Frette tablecloths and I think that's about it. There's a picture of a box/jewelry project from this months (last) Blueprint magazine. It's similar to the project I did last month but am thinking about giving this a whirl with one of my (many) wine boxes. The yellow moire fabric is really buttery yellow, I haven't quite figured out the flash settings on the new camera to get more accurate picture colors. In time...

EDIT!!!

Vet just called, Tal is slightly improved - but still has diarrhea, vomiting and not really eating. He agrees that she'll probably do better at home so we're picking up the furball at 3pm. Sure hope she doesn't toss her cookies (she's NOT the best traveler) in the Fiance's Dad's new automobile...eek.

Okay, here's how White Trash I am: when you said "Wine Box," I thought you meant the kind of box that comes with the wine right in it.

Which I have never bought. Uh-uh. Not me.

Hey, I hear that Target store brand "box o wine" is pretty good...

I bet you could store a lot of paper towels in those wine boxes. ;)

Oh! Oh! Oh!

For those of you who don't understand that comment...the Fiance found a great sale on paper towels and he bought MORE than we can comfortably store.
