Domino Magazine & Elle Decor

I subscribed to Domino & Elle Decor via Ebay awhile back. BIG MISTAKE. The seller never put through my subscription (or a few hundred other peeps purchases (click here) and so I am SOL. My Domino subcription ran out in November and so I haven't bought an issue in MONTHS and it's been killing me. I kept thinking that the minute I stopped at a newstand and paid cash for one issue...then the subscription would kick in and I'd find myself with 2 Decembers or 2 Januarys or 2 Februarys or 2 Marchs and on and on and on. So I gave in last week and bought all the issues I've missed on ebay from someone else. Smack. Landed on the doorstep at 8AM. I read November on the way to work.

Remember that Martha Stewart mag with the MOST perfect kitchen ever? The issue that I left behind in a hotel room! It has haunted me...so I bought it again...on Ebay. That arrived today.

Then the mailman came again...he came twice! And Mr. UPS...he came too! It was a banner freakin' package day.

-Back issues of Domino
-January Martha Stewart
-Oilcloth (smelly but gorgeous!)
-12 yards of white denim to slipcover the chairs

Yay!

Priscilla...who lives to torture me with her fantastic finds...found a gorgeous Mitchell Gold chair for our bedroom...don't you want to just sit in this chair and eat blueberries?

Unfortunately I'd have to rent a vehicle to get it and that would negate the price. But it's pretty, huh?

The Fiance let me pick the movie tonight. This happens every 1-2 years. I tortured him. I made him watch High Fidelity. Oh how I love John Cusack. The Fiance and I have often joked that we want to start a religious cult and call it The Church of Joan Cusack. We LOVE Joan (but not as much as I love John).

Fabulous chair if you can swing it! I'll be at an airport tomorrow and I think Domino will be my lazy eye candy of choice.

You are preaching to the Choir of John Cusack. Let's just say there were many high school nights we spent driving past his family's Evanston home. Uh, every night.

I knew you were going to break down and get that Martha Stewart back issue. I love that kitchen so much.

Marilyn--Which one is/was the Cusacks' house? (E-mail if you don't want to rat 'em out online.) I'm 39--that's not too old for a drive by, is it? Or to casually walk past with the dog? I so grew up in the wrong suburb.

OMG. Driving past his parent's house? That's hysterical.

Growing up...upstate the only house we did that to was Todd Rundgren's. There were/are tons of celebs near me in Woodstock (about 15-20 minutes away) but there is so much acreage you can't just drive by and peek up the driveway. Bummer!

You should have mentioned earlier that you wanted that issue of Martha Stewart. I just put it in the recycling bin last week. I would have shipped it to you. You're right about the kitchen though!

One of the best soundtracks ever

Là, la lune est libre je crois
qui rayonne au-dessus
rayonne au-d'sus des toits.

I'll be singing that all day now.
